Major work on Anarkali tomb restoration completed

LAHORE, Oct 24 (APP):The major work (about 75 per cent ) on the restoration project of Anarkali tomb has been completed.
The project is likely to be completed by June 2026. Anarkali Tomb is a Mughal-era monument located in the grounds of the Punjab Civil Secretariat Complex in Lahore.
It is considered one of the earliest tombs of the Mughal era. It is said that this tomb was built by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir out of love for Anarkali, and this is found in several traditions.
Last year, the Walled City Authority had started work on a project to renovate it.
It has been reported that 75 percent of its work has been completed, during which the structure of the building has been completely stabilised.
According to Walled City official sources, the project will be completed by June next year. Talking to APP in this regard, Director General of Walled City Lahore Authority Najam Al-Saqib said that after the complete restoration of the tomb, it will become an attractive place for tourists.
