TALAGANG, Nov 18 (APP):The Deputy Commissioner has visited to Tammam area and inspected a large-scale anti-encroachment operation  underway under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner Talagang.
For nearly 60 years, the Tammam Main Road had gradually shrunk from its original width of 36 feet to just 20 feet due to illegal encroachments and unregulated structures, severely disrupting traffic flow and causing daily inconvenience to residents.
The administration had initially issued notices to all encroachers in the first phase, but due to non-compliance, the assistant commissioner ordered the commencement of the operation.
During the drive, teams from the encroachment department, the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA), and the Police actively participated. Illegal constructions, temporary structures, and road obstructions were being removed to restore the road to its original planned width, the official sources said.
The administration has reiterated that no illegal occupation of government land would be tolerated.
