RAWALPINDI, May 18 (APP):The former Principal, Army Medical College, Prof. Dr. Maj Gen (R) Sohail Ameen HI (M) has said that Pakistan is our red line, we will defend it every inch till the last drop of our blood.
He said the Armed Forces of Pakistan have demonstrated marvellous courage and confidence during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, in which the enemy has been taught a long-lasting lesson.
He expressed these views, addressing a ceremony at Watim Medical & Dental Colleges, which was held to observe Youm e Tashakur.
Maj Gen (R) Sohail Ameen highlighted that the successful culmination of the befitting response by the Pakistani forces to India has resulted in uniting the whole nation to stand shoulder to shoulder with its defence forces.
Prof. Dr. Saad Asad, Aftab Ashraf, Assistant Commissioner Rawalpindi, and Rafiq Butt, senior representative from the National Press Club also attended the ceremony.
The speakers emphasized the unwavering resolve of the Pakistani nation and condemned the ongoing oppression in Indian-occupied Kashmir. They called for collective responsibility to uphold national unity, dignity, and the rights of oppressed people.
Prof. Idrees Butt during his address recalled his memories of the 1965 war and his visits to the Line of Control (LoC), invoking deep emotional responses from the audience as he spoke about the sacrifices of soldiers and the resilience of Kashmiris under siege.
Acting Principal Watim Medical College, Prof. Dr Mazhar Malik, and Principal Watim Dental College, Prof. Dr Brig (R) Syed Gulzar Bukhari, during their addresses highlighted the role of educational institutions in nurturing patriotism among youth.
Chairman and CEO, Prof. Dr Abdul Rasheed Mian, underscored Pakistan’s sovereign dignity and the collective responsibility to uphold its honour.
The program featured a historic and emotional ding, “Ae Rah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedo”, performed by Prof. Dr Madiha Ali, followed by a series of patriotic speeches and national songs by students.
A poster competition themed “Marka-e-Haq” showcased the artistic expressions of young minds. In addition, specially produced documentaries and short films commemorating Pakistan’s historic victory against India were also screened, drawing appreciation from both the audience and the guests.
Besides the guests, the faculty and a large number of students also attended the ceremony.
