LWMC working to ensure high standard cleanliness in Muharram

LAHORE, Jul 04 (APP):The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is carrying out a comprehensive
city-wide cleanliness operation to ensure clean environment during the month of Muharram.
According to LWMC sources here on Friday, LWMC operation teams are actively deployed along procession routes and at congregation points such as ‘Majalis’ and ‘Imambargahs’. Under the guidance of LWMC CEO Babar Sahib Din, cleanliness arrangements have been implemented across all key areas.
Over 900 workers were engaged in the grand cleanliness drive, focusing on timely waste collection and manual sweeping to keep procession routes clean. Initial cleaning preparations have been completed in Mori Gate, Koocha Ilahi Bakhsh, Lohari, Main Bazaar Lohari and Circular Road
Meanwhile, teams are actively working on routes of the ‘Alam’ procession at streets such as Sethan Wali, Syed Mitha Bazaar, Chowk No gaza, Taxali, and Tarnum Chowk, carrying out manual sweeping and waste clearance.
Further, cleaning efforts are ongoing at Thana Tibi, Hakiman Bazaar and Main Bazaar Bhatti Chowk to maintain sanitary conditions for participants.
CEO Babar Sahib Din emphasized that all available resources were being utilized to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness during Muharram.
Supervisory officers remain present in the field to monitor and guarantee full attendance of the workforce. The LWMC urged procession attendees to cooperate with the teams and maintain cleanliness.
