SIALKOT, Jan 15 (APP):The Civil Defence Department Sialkot took action against seven LPG stations for illegal decanting in different parts of the city.
According to District Officer Civil Defence Khalid Shehzad, an FIR was registered against the owner of one LPG station, three stations were sealed, while equipment of two other stations was confiscated during the crackdown.
He said the action was taken under sections 286 and 287 of the Pakistan Penal Code for unauthorized and negligent handling and sale of inflammable material, under which offenders may face up to six months imprisonment, a fine, or both.
He added that action was also taken under sections 26 and 44 of the OGRA Ordinance 2002. The operations were carried out by Civil Defence teams in various areas of Sialkot.
