SUKKUR, Nov 27 (APP): Chairman of Lok Sahata Trust, Syed Pir Muhammad Shah, DIG Police, addressed a press conference at Sukkur Press Club regarding the upcoming second season of the Lok Sahata Marathon (Hope Run) here on Thursday. He said that like the previous edition, Season 2 will also set new records of success. More than 11 countries will send participants, and international experts have certified the track as meeting global standards. Hope Run is now a globally registered marathon, attracting international athletes every year.
He detailed that preparations for Season 2 have already begun. Holding the conference alongside international athlete Jamal Saeed, he announced that the Lok Sahata International Marathon (Hope Run) Season 2 will be held on 21 December. The event will feature 25 athletes from Sindh, 45 from other provinces, and 16 international athletes from three continents.
Athletes from the UK, USA, Italy, Uganda and several other countries have already arrived in Sukkur. All visa and logistical arrangements for foreign participants have been completed.
Syed Pir Muhammad Shah thanked the Sindh Government Spokesperson and Mayor Sukkur Arsalan Sheikh and District Council Chairman Syed Kamil Hyder Shah for their support.
He said the international marathon will highlight Sukkur’s culture, people and civilization on a global stage. Jamal Saeed dedicated his participation to the memory of Shaheed Jamal Ahmed.
A 3 km Fun Race for journalists and cameramen will also be held, with attractive prizes. International athletes will compete in a 44 km race, any runner meeting world class standards will automatically qualify for the Boston Marathon.
Registration for the marathon is free. Young athletes and enthusiasts are encouraged to take part, win prizes and bring glory to the country. The marathon will be followed by a musical concert and award distribution ceremony.
The event aims to promote health, culture and international recognition through sport.
