LAHORE, Feb 27 (APP): The annual elections of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) will be held on Saturday, February 28, with all arrangements finalised.
According to the Election Board, polling will be conducted through a biometric system, for which 125 biometric machines have been installed. Voting will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. without any break.
A total of 32,488 lawyers have been declared eligible to cast their votes. Eight polling booths have been established, including at the Dr. Javed Iqbal Auditorium and Karachi Shuhada Hall. Polling will also be held at the Jinnah Lounge, Iqbal Lounge, and litigant centers.
The Election Board will supervise the entire electoral process. A total of 18 candidates are contesting for four key offices of the High Court Bar Association.
For the office of President, Babar Murtaza Khan and Raja Aamir Khan are in a straight contest. Candidates for the Vice President post include Chaudhry Qamar Shahid Mayo, Sohail Qaiser Farooq, Sheikh Habib bin Yousaf, and Faisal Mehboob Malik.
For the Secretary’s position, Barrister Haris Hayat Dahar, Rai Muhammad Ali Kharal, Sajjad Hussain Tardar, and Qasim Ejaz Samra are in the running.
The contest for Finance Secretary includes Bilal Riaz Sheikh, Chaudhry Abdul Hai Gujar, Saadia Noreen Mehr, Faiza Naseer Chaudhry, and Qurrat-ul-Ain.
