LAHORE, Oct 30 (APP):In a groundbreaking initiative to strengthen accountability and transparency within the district judiciary, the Lahore High Court (LHC), under the special directives of Chief Justice Miss Aalia Neelum, has introduced a modern and efficient mechanism for handling complaints against district judiciary staff across Punjab.
A circular issued by the LHC directs all District and Sessions Judges to immediately implement a simplified and accessible procedure for receiving and addressing complaints from litigants and the general public.
The move aims to provide citizens with a convenient, secure, and reliable platform to register their grievances without fear or hindrance.
Under the new system, every District and Sessions Judge is required to prominently display a dedicated email address and WhatsApp number outside the offices of District & Sessions Judges, Senior Civil Judges, and Judicial Lockups for the submission of complaints.
In addition, Complaint Drop Boxes are to be installed at prominent locations within court premises.
These boxes will be opened daily, alongside the official Diary Boxes, to ensure prompt attention and action on each complaint.
To guarantee transparency and accountability, a standardized procedure has been established for complaint processing and communication. Upon receipt of a complaint, the complainant will receive an SMS acknowledgment confirming submission. Once the inquiry is concluded and a decision is reached, the complainant will be informed both through SMS notification and an official letter dispatched to their postal address.
This forward-looking reform by the Lahore High Court marks a significant step toward enhancing the accountability of court staff and improving the quality of public service—reflecting the judiciary’s commitment to timely, transparent, and people-centered justice.
