LAHORE, Sep 21 (APP):The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday acquitted Ali Raza, who had been sentenced to life imprisonment in a double murder case, giving him the benefit of doubt.

Justice Amjad Rafiq heard Raza’s appeal against his conviction.

The appellant’s counsel submitted that the trial court had sentenced his client to life imprisonment in 2025 despite insufficient evidence linking him to the offence.

After hearing the arguments, the high court extended the benefit of doubt to the accused and set aside his conviction, ordering his acquittal.

According to the case record, Gujranwala police had registered the case against Raza in 2022 over allegations that he had killed two citizens.
