KARACHI, Jun 17 (APP): Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani Monday called for ensuring smooth and swift collection and disposal of offal and other waste during all three days of Eid-ul-Azha.
All the mayors of metropolitan and municipal corporations in the province, as well as commissioners and deputy commissioners, were instructed to put all the measures in place for the lifting and disposal of sacrificial animals.
The LG Minister contacted the mayors of Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, and all divisional commissioners on the phone, discussed the overall position of their respective areas, and asked them to fully supervise the operation, according to a statement issued here.
All public complaints in any district should be redressed immediately, he said, adding that the mayors of all the districts should prepare and send their reports indicating areas where there are still problems in collecting or disposing of offal and other waste.
All Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners should personally monitor the process of offal and waste collection and disposal in their respective districts.
The minister further instructed and also sought reports of districts in which Sindh solid waste was functioning.
