Dera Ismail Khan , May 30 (APP):A training workshop aimed at building leadership and management skills in higher education institutions has been launched at the University of Agriculture, Dera Ismail Khan.
The week-long program is a joint effort by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE).
According to Shiraz Ahmed Mughal, Public Relations Officer at the university, the workshop is designed to equip administrative staff with key competencies in modern education systems, strategic planning, financial management, and good governance. “This initiative is a positive step toward strengthening university operations and enhancing leadership capacity,” he said.
Academicians and administrative professionals from universities across the country are participating in the workshop to exchange insights and best practices.
Addressing the opening ceremony, the special guest Vice Chancellor of Gomal University, Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, highlighted the importance of leadership in academic success. “A strong administrative structure and leadership skills are essential for institutional growth,” he stated.
In a message shared during the event, Vice Chancellor of Agriculture University, Prof. Dr. Shakibullah, emphasized the workshop’s significance. “Such training programs are vital for our academic and administrative development. I believe this will help participants address modern academic challenges more effectively.”
The workshop includes sessions on governance, decision-making, and policy formulation. It will conclude with the distribution of certificates to acknowledge participants’ achievements.
The University of Agriculture has described the workshop as a meaningful contribution to raising standards across Pakistan’s higher education sector.
