RAWALPINDI, Jul 08 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi has said that the guidelines issued by the Punjab government to maintain peace and order during Muharram ul Haram would be implemented in letter and spirit.
He said this while visiting the Dr. Manzoor Hussain Mirza’s Markazi Imambargah and various procession routes in Murree on Monday. The DC reviewed the security arrangements in detail and issued instructions to the concerned officials to beef up security to maintain law and order, adding no one would be allowed to disturb the peaceful atmosphere.
He urged the Ulema to play a greater role in promoting religious harmony and unity during Muharram. “Sectarian unity is need of the hour,” he said and added that security arrangements made by the police could only be successful with the cooperation of Ulema and the civil society.
