MUZAFFARGARH, Mar 03 (APP):The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) arrested an official of the Land Record Center on charges of bribery.
Police said here on Tuesday that Rana Abdul Ghaffar, a Service Center official at the Land Record Centre in Layyah, was immediately suspended and ordered to report to the headquarters of the Punjab Land Record Authority. This action was taken under the directives of the Deputy Commissioner of Layyah.
The accused allegedly received Rs15,000 as a bribe from a citizen, Mudassar, for transferring his land record. The ACE also recovered the marked currency notes from his possession.
A case was registered against him at Saddar police station.
The authorities have also initiated action against other officials suspected of facilitating the accused, in order to widen the scope of the investigation.
