LAHORE, Oct 17 (APP):Lahore Police have issued a stern warning to troublemakers ahead of planned protests, saying illegal activities will not be tolerated under the guise of demonstrations.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana emphasised that all markets and business centres will remain open today as usual, and any attempt to block roads, shops, or transportation will be met with immediate legal action. “Protection of citizens’ lives, property, and belongings is our top priority,” the CCPO said, adding that Section 144 is in effect and violations will be dealt with firmly.
Bilal Siddique warned that miscreants will not escape the iron hand of the law. Authorities will also act against hate speeches, misuse of loudspeakers, and spreading of disinformation on social media under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
The police urged the public to avoid spreading rumors and assured strict enforcement to maintain law and order.
