Lahore experiences scattered moderate rainfall in two spells

LAHORE, Jul 15 (APP):The city experienced scattered moderate rainfall in two spells on Tuesday—first in the early morning and then in the afternoon. The MET Office has forecast similar weather conditions over the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected on July 16 and 17 across various parts of the country, which may trigger flash floods in local streams and nullahs of Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Murree, Galliyat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, D.G. Khan, upper/northeastern Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, and Kashmir.
Authorities also warned of potential landslides and road closures in the hilly terrains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Urban flooding is possible in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Taunsa, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Nowshera, and Peshawar.
The public is advised to stay cautious, as strong winds may damage loose structures, trees, electric poles, solar panels, vehicles, and standing crops.
According to the MET Office, a well-marked low-pressure area over northeast Rajasthan (India) is likely to impact Pakistan within 24 hours. This system is expected to bring strong monsoon currents to central and upper parts of the country, combined with a westerly wave affecting upper regions.
Rainfall was also recorded in Okara, Islamabad, Sahiwal, Murree, D.G. Khan, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Noor Pur Thal, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Sheikhupura, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Khanewal, Jhang, Sialkot, Joharabad, Hafizabad, Narowal, Karor, Hyderabad, Tando Jam, Badin, Jacobabad, Thatta, Astore, Bagrote, Gilgit, Skardu, Chilas, Garhi Dupatta, Kotli, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad, Kalam, and Balakot.
Turbat recorded Tuesday’s highest temperature at 44°C, while Lahore reached a maximum of 32°C.
