MULTAN, Apr 05 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi paid rich tribute to Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, stating that he was the only true public leader in the country’s history who consistently stood for people’s rights and never bowed before oppression.
Addressing a ceremony held late Saturday night to mark the 47th death anniversary of Bhutto, Kundi said that his sacrifice symbolizes an enduring struggle for democracy and public rights that cannot be suppressed. He added that Bhutto’s vision continues to inspire democratic consciousness even decades later.
The event was organized by Pakistan Peoples Party Multan District General Secretary Rao Sajid Ali Khan.
Kundi said that Benazir Bhutto carried forward Bhutto’s democratic mission with courage and sacrifice, while President Asif Ali Zardari is strengthening democratic continuity and national unity. He added that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is striving for constitutional supremacy, democracy, and the fulfillment of the party’s ideological vision.
He further stated that Bhutto played a pivotal role in making Pakistan a nuclear power, thereby strengthening national defense and deterring adversaries. Commenting on global conditions, Kundi noted that the impact of tensions involving the United States and Iran is being felt worldwide, including rising inflation in Pakistan. He stressed the need for national unity to tackle these economic challenges.
Senior Vice President PPP South Punjab Khawaja Rizwan Alam, Aftab Ali Khan Babar, Malik Naseem Laber, Imdad Ullah Abbasi, A.D. Khan Baloch, Sheikh Ghiyas ul Haq, Malik Arshad Iqbal Bhutta, Khawaja Imran, Mian Manzoor Qadri, Sajid Khan Baloch, Malik Nadeem Akhtar, Malik Rizwan Abid Thaheem, Haji Shahid Raza Siddiqui, and Malik Faisal attended the ceremony along with party workers.
The event concluded with prayers offered for the departed leader.
