KU, TCF ink MoU to facilitate admission of meritorious TCF alumni

KARACHI, Nov 27 (APP): The University of Karachi and The Citizens Foundation signed the memorandum of understanding, to facilitate the admissions of meritorious TCF alumni in the various undergraduate programs in the KU.
The MoU documents were inked at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat on Thursday. The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi and the General Manager, Alumni Pathways, Sadaf Asir Hasan signed the MoU.
TCF’s Head of Department, Access and Support, Tazeen Arsalan, TCF’s Manager Scholarships Maryam Anis Ur Rehman, other TCF members, the KU’s Director Evening Program Professor Dr Syed Shabib ul Hassan, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Professor Dr Samina Saeed, Dean of Faculty of Science Professor Dr Bilquees Gul, Dean of Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences Professor Dr Zaeema Asrar Mohiuddin, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Professor Dr Muhammad Harris Shoaib, in-charge Directorate of Admissions Professor Dr Saima Akhter, in-charge Students Financial Aid Office Professor Dr Zi Asma Haneef Khan, Director of Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization Dr Syeda Hoor ul Ain and team ORIC and others were also present on this occasion.
TCF’s Sadaf Hasan shared that TCF is a professionally managed, non-profit organization set up in 1995 by a group of citizens concerned with the dismal state of education in Pakistan.
She said that it is now one of Pakistan’s leading organizations in the field of formal education. TCF has established over 2,033 purpose-built school units nationwide with an enrolment of 301,000 students.
She added that over 8,000 students have successfully completed their matriculation every year whom TCF continues to support in their endeavor for higher education. Since 2013, more than 7,000 TCF Alumni have managed to secure admission in various universities across Pakistan.
She mentioned that to date, 37 TCF alumni have completed their studies from the KU while 10 new TCF alumni are enrolled on the campus while total of 142 TCF alumni have the part of the KU so far.
The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi and the director evening program and deans lauded the approach of the TCF for facilitating their alumni for higher studies in the country.
They observed that others should also follow the footsteps of TCF and make sure that maximum youngsters can go to schools, colleges, and universities.
