PESHAWAR, Oct 29 (APP):Khyber Teaching Hospital has introduced the advanced Stereotactic Biopsy Procedure, the first of its kind in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, aimed at improving diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
The initiative, launched under the provincial government’s health sector reforms, offers patients a minimally invasive, comfortable, and highly precise diagnostic option.
Assistant Professor Dr Sajjad Dawar said that stereotactic brain biopsy is a minimally invasive surgical method used to obtain a small tissue sample from abnormal areas of the brain, such as tumors, lesions, or infections.
The procedure allows neurosurgeons to accurately target deep or hard-to-reach regions without large incisions, helping confirm diagnoses when imaging scans are inconclusive.
Khyber Teaching Hospital continues to advance modern healthcare with upgraded facilities and specialized medical professionals.
