PESHAWAR, Jul 07 (APP):In a bold move to address consistently poor matriculation results, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to outsource 1,500 government schools that have been underperforming for years.
This initiative aims to enhance education quality, improve infrastructure, and boost student outcomes by partnering with private organizations and NGOs with proven expertise in school management.
The decision has been taken in line with two years policy tiled as `Good Governance Map’ by provincial government.
The KP government has recently chalked out its policy of Good Governance wherein this initiative of outsourcing 1500 schools of public sector is also mentioned.
These schools which are not showing satisfactory performance in matric results will be handed over to private sector under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
Under a scheme, a private company will purchase a school for imparting quality education and government will make payment to it on quarterly basis.
The government has decided not to waste funds on such schools which are not performing well and spent the same amount on private firms for improving the teaching quality of these institutions.
The Good Governance Policy also decides that a government run primary school will have at least four rooms for students with faculty strength of five to six teachers.
