PESHAWAR, Jul 23 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed Wednesday visited Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Headquarters to inaugurate a newly established auditorium hall and a lady officers’ mess.
During his visit, the IGP received a comprehensive briefing on CTD’s performance, current operational challenges, and ongoing projects. Speaking at inauguration, IGP Hameed emphasized CTD’s crucial role as a frontline force in fight against terrorism, highlighting urgent need to support its operational requirements.
He commended completion of auditorium hall, calling it a significant step forward for promoting training and professional development activities within department.
The IGP also lauded establishment of Lady Officers’ Mess, recognizing it as a welcome initiative that promotes inclusion, welfare, and empowerment of women within police force.
IGP Hameed conducted an inspection of various departments at CTD headquarters, expressing his appreciation for their efforts in maintaining law and order across province.
He directed officers to further enhance counter-terrorism measures and to utilize all available resources to ensure protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The IGP also took time to interact with police personnel, offering words of encouragement and listening to their concerns. The visit concluded with IGP Hameed laying a wreath at police memorial, honoring fallen officers.
He extended his appreciation to the officers responsible for the successful completion of both projects, noting that both new infrastructures are equipped with modern facilities.
