PESHAWAR, May 21 (APP):Advisor to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Saif, announced the approval of a new life insurance scheme for citizens across the province.
The initiative aims at providing financial protection to families in case of the death of a household head.
According to Barrister Dr. Saif on Wednesday, the provincial government has approved the scheme which will cover all citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The scheme is expected to cost Rs. 4.5 billion annually. Under this program, if the head of a family passes away, the dependents will receive immediate financial assistance.
The advisor explained that the families of individuals who die before the age of 60 will receive Rs. 1 million, while families of those who pass away at the age of 60 or above will receive Rs. 500,000.
The primary objective of the scheme is to offer prompt financial relief to the families affected by the loss of a breadwinner.
He emphasized that many families face serious financial hardship after the death of the primary earner, dealing not only with emotional loss but also with the sudden loss of income. This scheme aims at alleviating that burden.
Barrister Saif added that the provincial government is taking practical steps for public welfare.
