PESHAWAR, Dec 26 (APP): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hamid has praised police officers and personnel across the province for their outstanding performance in maintaining excellent security arrangements and peace during Christmas celebrations.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations, KP Police, IGP Zulfiqar Hamid stated that despite adverse conditions and serious security threats, the police force ensured the protection of people’s lives and property, setting a high example of duty and dedication.
He noted that this year, Christmas events were held in 105 churches across 23 districts of the province, with a total of 110 prayer services and other programs organized on December 25.
To secure these events, nearly 4,000 police personnel were specially deployed province-wide, performing their duties with utmost vigilance.
The IGP emphasized that police remained on high alert not only at churches but also on roads, checkpoints, and other sensitive locations, enabling the minority community to celebrate their festival in a safe and joyful environment.
Commending the force, IGP Zulfiqar Hamid said the personnel stand firm against terrorism threats, never retreating from their duties even an inch.
They have always confronted challenges head-on and never turned their backs.
Christmas was celebrated across KP on December 25 amid tight security arrangements, allowing the Christian community to observe the occasion with religious zeal.
