PESHAWAR, Jun 13 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to bring the salaries of KP Police in line with those of their counterparts in Punjab.
Presenting the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025–26, Finance Minister Aftab Alam stated that the recommendation for salary alignment is under active consideration and part of broader reforms aimed at uplifting the police force.
To honor the sacrifices of police martyrs, the provincial government has also announced enhanced compensation packages.
The compensation for martyrs from the ranks of Constable, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), and Inspector has been increased from 10 million rupees to 11 million rupees. Similarly, the package for Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Superintendent of Police (SP) has been raised from 15 million to 16 million rupees. For the higher ranks of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), SP, and Deputy Inspector General (DIG), the compensation has been enhanced from 20 million to 21 million rupees.
In addition to the financial support, the government will also provide residential plots to the families of the martyred officers. These plots will range in size from 5, 7, and 10 marlas to one kanal, based on eligibility and rank.
The KP government’s initiatives aim to boost the morale of the police force and recognize the ultimate sacrifices rendered by its members in maintaining law and order across the province.
