PESHAWAR, Dec 09 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health, Khalique ur Rehman on Tuesday met with the family of slain lady doctor Warda Mushtaq and offered condolences.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial health minister said, “The brutal murder of Dr. Warda Mushtaq is an extremely tragic incident. The government is taking this matter very seriously and we would ensure justice and that perpetrators would not escape the law.” He prayed for the departed soul and assured bereaved family of full support from the government.
Later, the minister visited Benazir Teaching Hospital (BTH) Abbottabad where he met representatives of Doctors Association. He stated, “Ensuring the security of doctors is the top priority of the government. Those serving in the health sector are a valuable asset to us. A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been constituted to conduct a transparent inquiry, and it is carrying out its responsibilities in a fully professional manner.”
He further added that the government is committed to providing a safe working environment to all healthcare staff, and that effective measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem Akram and District Health Officer Abbottabad were also present on the occasion.
