PESHAWAR, Sep 01 (APP):In a proactive move to safeguard the health of Afghan refugees during their repatriation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Advisor on Health, Ihtesham Ali, has announced the establishment of a medical relief camp in District Khyber.
In a statement issued on Monday, the health advisor emphasized the need for urgent medical support, citing that vehicles carrying Afghan nationals — including children, elderly, and women — are lined up from Ali Masjid to the Afghan border.
“Ensuring their safe and healthy return is our responsibility,” said Ihtesham Ali.
Following the directive, the Director General Health Services has been instructed to immediately deploy medical teams and set up the camp. The Health Department will provide essential medicines and medical supplies to support the initiative.
Ihtesham Ali further stated that the department remains committed to serving Afghan brothers in every possible way and will maintain a strong presence on the ground throughout the repatriation process.
“This step is part of the provincial government’s serious efforts to ensure a dignified and safe return for Afghan refugees,” he added.
The camp is expected to offer basic health screenings, emergency care, and support for vulnerable individuals during the transition.
