PESHAWAR, Jan 15 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Department has urged the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to remove restrictive measures hindering the inter-provincial movement of wheat and flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a letter, the department highlighted concerns raised by the Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) KP chapter regarding continued obstructions at check posts on Punjab–KP routes, despite no formal restrictions being in place.
The letter stated that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a wheat-deficient province and relies heavily on supplies from Punjab to meet consumption and milling needs.
It emphasized that uninterrupted movement of wheat is essential to ensure smooth availability of flour to the public.
