KP govt orders timely salary deductions after account-I shortfall

PESHAWAR, Nov 17 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has issued strict directions to ensure timely deduction from Account-I for salary and Raast payments, after it was observed that salaries for October were disbursed from the provincial non-food account without prior intimation, causing the account balance to turn negative.
According to the circular, issued by the Budget Officer, departments have been reminded that monthly salary bills must be signed on the last working day of the month and paid on the next working day, as per Federal Treasury Rules.
The Finance Department has now ordered that salaries, allowances, and pensions will only be disbursed on the first working day of each month after the confirmation of the federal tranche in the provincial Account-I, in order to maintain the required cash balance.
