ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Tuesday met with Chairman Wapda, Lieutenant General (R) Muhammad Saeed, and congratulated him on assuming office.
The Governor termed his appointment a positive development, particularly for ongoing and future development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on the Chashma Lift Canal project Dera Ismail Khan.
Governor Kundi expressed hope that with necessary reforms, the project would soon see tangible progress, directly benefiting the people. Chairman Wapda assured the Governor that practical work on the project would commence shortly.
Pakistan Peoples Party’s Parliamentary Leader in KP Assembly, Ahmad Karim Kundi, and PPP’s Central Secretary Information, Nadeem Afzal Chan, were also present at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Chairman Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), Nadir Gul Bareech, called on Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
During the meeting, Nadir Gul Bareech briefed the Governor on PPAF’s ongoing initiatives aimed at poverty reduction and sustainable development in the province. These projects include the promotion of olive cultivation, skill development programs for girls, provision of assistive devices for children with hearing impairments, and easy access to loans for underprivileged communities.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi lauded PPAF’s efforts, emphasizing that collaboration between public and private institutions is essential for poverty alleviation and welfare-oriented initiatives.
He assured full cooperation in ensuring the success of PPAF’s upcoming initiatives. The meeting also reviewed preparations and agenda for the conference scheduled to be held on September 26 at Governor House Peshawar.
