KP CM vows to prioritise peace, development in tribal districts

PESHAWAR, Nov 25 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Tuesday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to restoring peace and ensuring the rights of the tribal districts, saying that stability remains the province’s foremost priority.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of elders from Baizai, Mohmand district.
The CM thanked the tribal elders for their unwavering support, calling it a source of strength for the provincial government.
“Peace is our biggest challenge and our top priority,” CM Afridi said. “Without peace, development and prosperity cannot be achieved.”
He highlighted the successful convening of the KP grand peace jirga at the provincial assembly, where all political parties and stakeholders issued a unanimous declaration in favour of coordinated efforts for lasting peace.
He reiterated that his government is actively working to secure the rightful share of the merged districts and ensure their long-term development.
“We will establish a university in the merged districts and will also set up medical and nursing colleges,” he said.
The visiting elders praised CM Afridi, stating that his elevation to the province’s highest office is an honour for all tribal districts and that they stand firmly with him in the struggle for peace and provincial rights.
