KP CM pays surprise visit to city, government offices

PESHAWAR, Dec 27 (APP): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan on Monday paid a surprise visit to different areas of Peshawar city and government offices.

The chief Minister visited Tehsil City Office without any security protocol where he inspected different offices including Service Delivery Centre, Registrar office, Tehsildar office etc. On this occasion, the chief minister also met with visitors, interacted with them and got information about their issues associated with the Tehsil office.

Mahmood Khan while expressing his dissatisfaction on the Service Delivery and cleanliness situation in the Tehsil office, sought a report from deputy commissioner in this regard.

On the complaints of the visitors regarding unnecessary delay in the issuance of mutation, and registry of land, the Chief Minister ordered immediate suspension of two concerned Patwaris, and directed the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar to conduct an inquiry against the concerned registrar and submit a report accordingly.

On the demand of visitors, Mahmood Khan issued directives to the concerned quarters for opening branches of Khyber Bank in all the Service Delivery Centres across the province with the aim to facilitate the visitors with regard to deposit the fees for land transfer etc.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister directed the concerned quarters to convene a special meeting of Revenue department, district administration and other relevant entities under his chair to resolve the all issues related to mutation, registry and transfer of land etc once for all, and to improve the overall working of Tehsil office and Service Delivery Centre upto the expectation of the general public.

He strictly directed the staff of the Service Delivery Centre to ensure the provision of all the services within the stipulated time frame and warned them of strict action otherwise. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also paid a surprise visit to Khan Razzaq Shaheed Police Station, checked records of the Police stations and inspected various portions of the Police Station including lock up and SHO office etc.

Expressing dissatisfaction on the poor condition of sanitation, Mahmood Khan sought a detailed report from Chief Capital City Police on the poor situation and dilapidated condition of the Police station in three-day time. Mahmood Khan also visited Khyber Bazar, Qissa Khwani Bazar, Chowk Yadgaar and other areas of the city.

He expressed dissatisfaction on the overall condition of sanitation in those areas and sought a report from the Secretary Local Government on the issue. He also sought a report from Chief Traffic Police on haphazard flow of traffic in those localities.

To a question about security arrangements for the second phase of LG elections in 18 districts of Malakand and Hazara division besides few districts of merged tribal districts of KP scheduled on January 16, 2022, the IGP said that “we are ready for every challenge including holding of second phase of LG election”.


However, keeping in view of the cold weather conditions and snowfall in 60 percent areas of these districts, the IGP said the Election Commission of Pakistan would be approached to postpone the LG elections till March 2021.


He said an App to counter women harassment cases would be launched in next two weeks in KP. He said foolproof security was provided to 106 churches in KP during Christmas. MoazzamJah Ansari said Aasan Insaf Centre has been established at Hayatabad and Faqirabad police stations while three more such centres would soon be setup in Peshawar.


In next six months, he said, such centres would be set up in 17 police stations in Khyber Pakthunkhwa where all the 400 police stations would be computerised.
He said strict action would be taken against DPO or SHO if they failed to register cases of genuine complainants.

He said aerial firing was a social course and FIRs were registered against elements involved in aerial firing during LG elections. IGP said Chief Minister KP had visited Kabuli police station today and expressed dissatisfaction over its cleanliness, adding all police stations were directed to maintain cleanliness despite the fact that presently we have no sweeper posts.


He said an independent forensic laboratory would be established for conducting DNA related investigation in Peshawar as presently we utilized services of labs at Lahore for results of DNA.


He said an establishment of an independent and well equipped forensic laboratory at Peshawar would help speedy completion of DNA related investigation tests to save time and money besides no one would be able to raise fingers on authenticity of DNA reports in any forums. 


As many as 14 percent decrease in snatching of cars incidents have been witnessed this year and that 19,985 offenders were arrested and 167 outlaws killed in police encounters.


FIRs were registered against owners of 1,599 hotels for unverified stay of the guests, 11,718 FIRs against non completion of rented farms, 846 FIRs against misuse of load speakers and provocative speeches, 205 against educational institutions for poor security arrangements and 1,487 cases against Afghans nationals on charges of their illegal stay in Pakistan.


KP Police had seized 23,083.680 KG charsas, 1111.558 KG heroin, 899.743 KG ice and 9549 bottles of liquor and recovered huge caches of arms and ammunition this year.
