KP CM, IGP visit Tank to condole families of police martyrs

TANK, Jan 15 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, along with Inspector General of Police (IGP) KP Zulfiqar Hameed on Thursday visited Tank district to express condolence and solidarity with the families of police officers who embraced martyrdom in a terrorist improvised explosive device (IED) attack within the jurisdiction of Gomal Police Station.
Upon arrival at Police Lines Tank, the CM and the police chief were received by Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Dawood Khan, Regional Police Officer Dera Ismail Khan Syed Ashfaq Anwar, Deputy Commissioner Tank Tanveer Ahmed, and District Police Officer Tank Shabbir Hussain Shah.
The CM and the IGP laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial and offered special prayers for the eternal peace and elevated ranks of the fallen police personnel.
They later met with the bereaved families and local elders, conveying deep sympathy and assuring them of the government’s full support.
Addressing the gathering, CM Sohail Afridi said that those who lay down their lives for peace and security attain an everlasting place in history.
He paid tribute to the police, security forces, and the people of KP for their unparalleled sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
The CM assured the families that the provincial government stands firmly with the heirs of martyrs and will take all possible measures to address their concerns.
He said the KP Police are courageously confronting terrorism and expressed confidence that peace would soon be fully restored in the province.
IGP Zulfiqar Hameed, while speaking on the occasion, also expressed heartfelt condolences to the families and acknowledged the immense sacrifices rendered by the police force for lasting peace.
He urged the families to remain steadfast, stating that police personnel are fighting terrorists relentlessly and bringing them to justice.
He further emphasized that the children of martyrs are regarded as the children of the police department and their welfare is a collective responsibility of the force.
He assured that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard and reiterated that unity and determination would ultimately lead to the elimination of terrorism and restoration of peace in the region.
