PESHAWAR, Aug 12 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Monday adopted the adjournment motion of PPP parliamentary leader, Ahmad Kundi regarding Gandhara civilization for further discussion.
Ahmad Kundi in his adjournment motion desired to know the priorities of provincial government about Gandhara civilization.
He said that our regions was once the center of Gandhara civilization and inquired about the measure taken by the
government for its preservation. The chair approved the adjournment motion for further discussion.
Rajab Ali in his call attention notice said that budget has not been allocated for 107 employees of Provincial Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (PERRA) who are on duty for the last eighteen years.
Law Minister said that PERRA was established under the umbrella of Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction
Authority, ERRA in 2005 after earthquake.
He said following a decision taken in 2021, it was decided that services of PERA employees would be given to provincial government. He informed the house that a summary in this connection has been moved and the decision of provincial cabinet relating to matter is still awaited.
In another call attention notice, Tariq Mehmood said that the decision of Chief Minister, Ali Ameen Gandapur to sell the land of Mardan Greater Education City would negatively impact the existing education system.
Responding to call attention notice, provincial higher education minister, Meena Khan Afrdi said that land of 5000 kanals was purchased during ANP tenure for the greater campus and people of the area had approached courts due to low purchasing price of land.
He told that after the court settlement, the price of land has increased to Rs. 2800 per marla. He said that cabinet has formulated a committee to look into the matter but any final decision has not been taken yet despite convening five meetings of the committee.
Provincial minister objected that why the land was purchased by ANP government despite that auqaf land of 36000 kanal was available in Mardan at the time then.
He said that selling of land would not affect the education system as 100-120 kanal land is needed for setting a university.
