PESHAWAR, Jan 12 (APP):The Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has written a letter to the Corps Commander Peshawar, requesting a detailed briefing on the prevailing security situation in the province.
In the letter, the Speaker stated that the provincial assembly has constituted a special committee on security, which has already received briefings from the Inspector General of Police, the Chief Secretary, and the Additional Chief Secretary.
According to the letter, the security committee also convened a jirga comprising all political parties and issued a joint declaration, which has been attached with the correspondence.
The Speaker requested that an in-camera briefing for the Special Security Committee be arranged at the KP Assembly on a mutually agreed date and time. However, no specific date or time has been proposed in the letter.
