KOHAT, Nov 26 (APP):Kohat city police successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large cache of arms and ammunition on Wednesday during a timely and effective operation.
According to APP correspondent, the action was carried out under the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, Shehbaz Elahi, as part of the ongoing crackdown against criminal elements.
Police recovered one Kalashnikov rifle, 16 grenade launchers, 54 grenades, 550 rounds of 7.62 bore cartridges, and 520 G-3 cartridges from his possession.
The seized weapons were being smuggled towards Darra Adam Khel. The police team, led by DSP Ejaz Khan and SHO City Police Station Fayaz Khan, apprehended the suspect at the City Phatak checkpoint during a blockade.
The arrested smuggler has been shifted to City Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
