Kohat cracks down on food safety violations

KOHAT, Nov 6 (APP):In a bid to ensure food safety and fair pricing, authorities in Kohat on Thursday conducted a comprehensive inspection of various markets. In this regard,  Additional Assistant Commissioner II Abrar Khattak led the team, visiting shops, food centers, and slaughterhouses to check for compliance with public health regulations.
The inspection team examined milk quality, hygiene conditions, and measurement systems at dairy outlets, and checked meat prices and sanitation protocols at slaughterhouses. Naan-baking shops were scrutinized for weight and pricing, while general stores were checked for expired or substandard food items. Fines were imposed on violators, and stern warnings were issued.
On this occasion, Abrar Khattak emphasized that providing quality and safe food is the government’s top priority. He assured that strict action will continue against vendors selling unhealthy or substandard products, with regular inspections to ensure better facilities and safe food for Kohat citizens.
