Kisan Card registration reaches 85% in Bahawalnagar

BAHAWALNAGAR, Sep 03 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar, Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhoon on Tuesday chaired a meeting at the DC office regarding the registration and issuance of Kisan cards.
According to DC Office, representatives from the Bank of Punjab, the Agriculture Extension Department and other relevant departments attended the meeting.
During the briefing, the Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension, Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq stated that the target for Kisan card registration was set at 32,503 and so far, 27,642 farmers have been registered which is 85% of the target.
He mentioned that the Kisan card registration is an ongoing process and can be done online by sending a message from the registered mobile phone number for landowners with one to twelve and a half acres of land.
Deputy Commissioner, Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhoon emphasized that the Kisan card is an important initiative of the Punjab government and urged the officials to take steps to ensure the registration of all eligible landowners and the issuance of Kisan cards.
He directed the officials to complete the Kisan card registration target this week.
The meeting was also attended by the assistant commissioners of the tehsils who participated through a video link.
The officials discussed the progress and challenges in the Kisan card registration process and made plans to expedite the process to meet the set target.
