LAHORE, Sep 05 (APP):Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani has said that Punjab CM’s Kisan Card and Green Tractor Scheme will prove to be game changer for farmers.
He said this while presiding over the meeting which reviewed timelines of Punjab CM’s Kisan Card and Green Tractor Scheme and progress in this regard, here on Thursday.
He said that till now registration of more than 0.8 million farmers has been completed and after scrutiny the Bank of Punjab verified over 280,000 farmers for getting Punjab Chief Minister’s Kisan card.
Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani said that special teams have been constituted for manual verification of farmers to get Kisan Card.
For provision of Kisan Cards 137 delivery centres have been set up at tehsil level, he added.
Under Green Tractor Scheme 9500 tractors would be provided to farmers and the Punjab government would provide over Rs 9 billion in this regard.
Later, the minister inaugurated Kisan card provision centre at Lahore Tehsil. He also reviewed front desk and delivery point. Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo was also present on the occasion.
