PESHAWAR, Oct 30 (APP):Independent Candidate Khurram Zeeshan on Thursday was elected as a senator in the by-election.
Kurram Zeeshan secured 91 votes while his runner up Taj Muhammad Afridi bagged 45 vote and Irfan Salim secured no vote.
The by-election on the general seat of the Senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held in the Jirga Hall of the KP Assembly.
Polling started at 9 a.m and continued till 4 p.m
This seat had fallen vacant due to the disqualification of Syed Shibli Faraz.
Two candidates, Abid Khan Yousafzai and Nisar Khan, have withdrawn from the election race.
The Provincial Election Commissioner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saeed Gul, has been appointed as the Returning Officer.
