LAHORE, Feb 05 (APP): Punjab Minister for Health and Emergency Services Khawaja Salman Rafique, in his message on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, paid rich tribute to the Kashmiri people who have been steadfastly struggling for their right to self-determination despite Indian oppression and tyranny for the past several decades.
He said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people are a bright chapter in history and that the entire Pakistani nation stands firmly with them. The minister reiterated that Pakistan has always supported a peaceful and just solution to the Kashmir issue in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the international community has a responsibility to take serious notice of grave human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir and play an effective role in ensuring the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.
Expressing solidarity, he said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stands shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people. He added that Kashmir Solidarity Day is a day of renewal of the pledge to continue moral, diplomatic and humanitarian support for the Kashmiris and to highlight their struggle at every forum.
Praying for the Kashmiri people, the health minister said, “We pray that Allah Almighty may soon grant our Kashmiri brothers and sisters the blessing of freedom and that lasting peace is established in the region.”
He said that the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people is the voice of the heart of every citizen of Pakistan. According to the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, he added, the Punjab government is not only taking steps to improve the health sector but is also prioritising human rights and solidarity with oppressed nations.
Khawaja Salman Rafique further said that only a strong, healthy and conscious society can raise an effective voice at the global level. Pakistan’s peace, stability and national unity, he added, further strengthen support for the Kashmiri people.
He concluded by saying that the entire nation stands by its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and that it is the national and moral responsibility of all Pakistanis to raise their voice for the legitimate rights of the Kashmiris.
