KHANEWAL, Jun 29 (APP):Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal announced that a university would  soon be established in Khanewal as part of the PML-N government’s policy to open higher education campuses in every district of the country.
Speaking to the media at Daha House Khanewal after offering condolences to MNA Muhammad Khan Daha and his family on the death of veteran Muslim League leader and former Provincial Transport Minister Haji Irfan Khan Daha, the minister said, “Khanewal will soon have its own university campus, which will provide quality education opportunities to thousands of students, especially in underdeveloped areas.”
He cited the example of Narowal University, where over 7,000 students are currently enrolled and more than 5,000 of whom are female.
Highlighting economic progress under the current government, Ahsan Iqbal said that country has successfully avoided default due to positive policies, and the economy is now showing clear signs of improvement. He also praised the armed forces for their role in Operation Azm-e-Istehkam and said the military’s achievements have been acknowledged globally.
Criticizing the previous PTI government, Ahsan Iqbal stated that despite 15 years of rule in KP, the party failed to deliver basic relief in crises such as the Swat tragedy. He said videos of flood victims have moved the nation to tears and exposed governance failures.
Referring to the recent Supreme Court verdict on reserved seats, the minister said the decision has corrected past judgments that favored the PTI and has now upheld true democratic principles.
He said the PTI is ideologically divided, stating, “One faction blindly follows a confrontational path against institutions, while the other promotes democratic values  and must now decide its direction.”
The minister reaffirmed PML-N’s commitment to national development, educational expansion, and democratic stability. He also promised to convey the suggestions of Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Communications and Works, Rana Saleem Hanif, regarding tax reforms and farmers’ issues, to the relevant federal authorities and the Prime Minister.
