Khanewal press club to get new block under CM grant

KHANEWAL, Jul 28 (APP):A new block of the District Press Club Khanewal will be constructed with a special
grant of Rs 2.5 million approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Foundation stone of the project was laid by MNA Muhammad Khan Daha, Punjab parliamentary secretary for Communications and Works Rana Muhammad Saleem Hanif, and MPA Barrister Usama Fazal Chaudhry at a ceremony here.
Addressing the ceremony, they said the CM was committed to welfare of mediapersons and the project was an important step towards improving facilities for journalists in Khanewal.
District Press Club Khanewal President Ahmad Raza Qadri, General Secretary Muhammad Adnan Chaudhry, Chairman Abdul Latif Anwar, Executive Committee Chairman Qulzam Bashir Ahmad, and group leaders Anjum Bashir Ahmad expressed gratitude to Chief Minister and heaped praise on MNA Muhammad Khan Daha, Rana Muhammad Saleem Hanif and Barrister Usama Fazal Chaudhry for pleading the case of Khanewal journalists.
Rana Saleem Hanif said the new block would be equipped with modern facilities, providing journalists with a better and more secure working environment.
The KPC office-bearers also requested the Punjab government to provide an additional grant for the timely completion of the project so that the District Press Club could be equipped with modern facilities for journalists.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of journalists, senior members of the legal fraternity, business leaders, representatives of social organizations, district officials and other dignitaries. It concluded with special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, press freedom and the welfare of the journalist community.
