KHANEWAL, Nov 26 (APP): The district administration on Wednesday distributed land ownership documents to 150 individuals belonging to the minority community under the “Wanda Krao, Sukkh Pao” initiative launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to strengthen land rights and reduce property disputes.
The distribution ceremony was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Dr Salma Suleman, who, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Khalid Abbas Sial, handed over certified copies of ownership documents to the beneficiaries.
According to the district administration, the Revenue Department prepared more than 300 ownership documents for landholders of Chak 133/15-L as part of the initiative aimed at ensuring legal protection and transparency in land records.
Assistant Commissioner Mian Channu Sajida Razaq, the Tehsildar Mian Channu, and other revenue officials were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Salma Suleman said the Plus Project initiated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was a revolutionary step towards safeguarding the rights of marginalized communities, especially minorities. She stated that the issuance of Wanda documents was contributing significantly to the reduction of land-related disputes and conflicts.
She further added that the project had also played an important role in decreasing the number of pending revenue cases in courts by providing clear and legally verified land ownership records.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to protecting minority rights and ensuring equal access to legal land ownership as part of the provincial government’s governance and reform agenda.
