CHINIOT, Oct 27 (APP):The Kashmir Black Day (KBD) on Monday was observed across the district to condemn India’s illegal occupation of the Jammu and Kashmir state.
The protest rallies, solidarity events, and gatherings were held at district and tehsil levels, attended by a large number of citizens, students, teachers, government officials, and representatives of the civil society.
The major rally was organized by the district administration, started from Municipal Committee Chowk and culminated at Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk.
Deputy Commissioner, Safiullah Gondal led the rally, accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner, district officers, teachers, staff members, students, and civil society participants.
The participants carried placards and banners inscribed with slogans such as “Kashmiris demand justice,” “Justice delayed is justice denied,” and “Indian aggression in Kashmir is illegal.”
Addressing the gathering, the deputy commissioner  said that October 27, 1947, marked the darkest day in the history of Kashmir when India landed its troops in Srinagar and illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He said the people of Pakistan would never remain silent over the oppression and brutalities faced by their Kashmiri brethren and urged the international community to take notice of the grave human rights violations in the occupied valley.
He further stated that the observance of Black Day aimed to draw the world’s attention to the injustices being committed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
He reiterated that the people of Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri nation and would continue their political, moral, and diplomatic support until the just cause of freedom is achieved.
