KARACHI, Feb 04 (APP): Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) organized a Kashmir Solidarity Rally on Wednesday, which was led by Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor of SMIU. The rally was commenced from the I.T. Tower of SMIU and culminated at the Main Building of the university, where the Vice Chancellor addressed the participants. Deans, chairpersons of academic departments, heads of different administrative departments, officers, faculty, and other employees of the university participated in it.
Addressing the rally, Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai said that the struggle of the people of occupied Kashmir is not only their struggle but it is also our struggle, and it is a struggle of all Pakistanis; thus, we must raise our voice for the right to self-determination of Kashmiri people so they can live a free life and enjoy liberty.
Criticizing the role of the UNO, the vice chancellor said that the United Nations has passed more than ten resolutions on occupied Kashmir, but none of them has been implemented, which raises questions on its weak position on major world issues.
“After the limited role of the UNO, other world organizations are emerging to resolve their issues. This alarming situation will lead to the collapse of UNO in the future,” Dr. Sahrai said and added that world nations must raise their voices against India’s hegemony and brutal usage of force in occupied Kashmir to retain its occupation in the Kashmir Valley.
Saluting the Armed Forces of Pakistan, Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai said, due to our Jawans, our borders are protected, and we are working with calm; otherwise, the situation on the borders and within the country is vulnerable. “Think about those young soldiers who are meeting their martyrdom for protecting us. Most of them are young and are newly married, but they are fighting for the country and its people in below-zero temperatures of glaciers and hot weather of mountains of Balochistan and KPK and giving sacrifices of their lives. He said that those foreign forces are trying to destabilize Pakistan, who are involved in killings of innocent Kashmir people in occupied Kashmir. He condemned them and said their nefarious designs will never materialize.
The vice chancellor also talked on the sorry state of Gaza and said that over here also the role of UNO is negligible as despite ceasefire, innocent children, women and men are being martyred by Israeli forces in Gaza. He said that the genocide of Palestinians must be stopped and the existence and ownership of the Palestinian people on their land must be accepted.
Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai directed the employees of SMIU that they must post at least one message on social media in solidarity and support of Kashmiri people, their struggle, and against Indian brutality.
