Karachi police ordered to intensify action against street crime, organised criminal elements
KARACHI, Aug 18 (APP):Additional Inspector General of Police – Karachi Azad Khan has directed police officers to intensify action against elements involved in street crime, murder, robbery, drug trafficking, vehicle theft and other forms of organised crime.
He issued the directives while presiding over a meeting on crime prevention at the Karachi Police Office on Tuesday, said a news release.
The meeting was attended by DIG Administration, DIG CIA, zonal DIGs, district SSPs, SPs Investigation and other senior police officers.
During the meeting, the zonal DIGs gave detailed briefings on the crime situation in their respective zones, police measures and strategies being adopted to prevent criminal activities.
The Karachi police chief reviewed progress in important cases, the arrest of proclaimed and absconding accused persons and measures being taken to curb crime.
He directed the officers to further accelerate operations against criminal elements and adopt a concrete and effective strategy to prevent street crime, drug-related offences, vehicle theft and other organised crimes.
He also stressed the need for effective policing to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property
