Karachi Police arrest over 944 suspects during week-long anti-crime operations
KARACHI, Aug 17 (APP):Karachi Police arrested more than 944 suspects during anti-crime operations across the city’s East, West and South zones over the past week, police said on Monday.
According to a Karachi Police spokesperson, district police conducted 26 encounters with suspected robbers during the period, in which five suspects were killed and 42, including 30 injured, were arrested.
Police recovered 38 illegal weapons of different types and 19 motorcycles from the arrested suspects.
During the week, police also recovered 7.286 kilogrammes of hashish, 2.665 kilogrammes of ice/crystal meth and heroin in operations against narcotics and during police encounters, the spokesperson said.
More than 178 illegal weapons of various types, along with ammunition, allegedly used in street crime and other offences, were also recovered from arrested suspects.
Karachi Police further recovered 16 snatched and stolen motorcycles and four cars during operations in different parts of the city.
