KARACHI, Oct 20 (APP):Acting on the directives of Additional IGP Karachi Javed Alam Odho, Karachi Police carried out a series of successful operations against criminal elements across the city during the past week.
According to a police spokesperson on Monday, district police engaged in 23 encounters with armed robbers, during which two dacoits were killed and 32 suspects, including 27 injured robbers, were arrested. Police also seized 30 illegal firearms, a Hi-Roof van, and 15 motorcycles used in various crimes.
Across Karachi’s East, West, and South Zones, law enforcement teams arrested more than 768 suspects involved in different criminal activities.
As part of the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, police recovered 18.5 kilograms of hashish, along with quantities of ice/crystal meth and heroin, worth millions of rupees in the local market.
During operations, police also recovered over 115 illegal weapons with ammunition used in street crimes and robberies. Additionally, 42 snatched or stolen motorcycles and four cars were recovered from various areas of the city.
