Karachi Police arrest 894 suspects, kill 10 in encounters during week
KARACHI, Sep 29 (APP):Karachi Police arrested more than 894 suspects and killed 10 alleged robbers in 45 encounters during the past week, according to a police spokesperson on Monday.
The encounters took place between district police and suspected robbers across the city, leaving 52 other suspects injured.
A total of 64 suspects, including those injured in the encounters, were arrested, police said.
Police recovered 62 illegal weapons of different types, along with a car and 23 motorcycles, from the arrested suspects.
During a continuing anti-narcotics campaign and operations against criminals, police also seized 11.89 kilogrammes of hashish, 3.186 kilogrammes of ice/crystal and heroin from different areas.
A further 165 illegal weapons of different types, along with ammunition, allegedly used in street robberies and other crimes, were recovered from arrested suspects.
Police also recovered 34 snatched or stolen motorcycles and three vehicles during operations in different parts of the city.
