KAFP strengthens educational and professional collaboration across Kazakhstan

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP):A high-level delegation from Pakistan, organized under the platform of the Kazakhstan Alumni Forum Pakistan (KAFP) and facilitated by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Pakistan has successfully concluded a series of official academic and professional engagements across Kazakhstan, it was officially stated.
“The initiative reflects the shared vision of both nations to deepen cooperation in education, medicine, science, and technology”, Dr. Ijaz Ahmed   Raja, President,  Pakistan Medical Association (PMA)  Mirpur AJK  District told APP  here.
Elaborating saliant features of the event, the PMA District President said that the visit commenced in first week of this month at Astana Medical University (AMU). The delegation was led by Dr. Nasir Gul Laeq, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, and included distinguished clinicians and representatives:

Dr. Mir Daud Gul, Senior Dental Surgeon

 Ijaz Ahmad, Co-Director, Pharmax and  Ameer Shah, Country Representative, Pharmax, he added.
The delegation, he continued, was warmly received by Dr. Abilmazhinov M. T., Head of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics, and Ms. Liliya Bilan, Vice-Dean for International Students, School of Medicine.
Later, Prof. Dr. Ayan Myssayev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Collaboration, also joined the meeting and welcomed the visitors.
During the interactive academic session, Dr. Gohar Latif Kalis delivered an inspiring presentation on professional growth and medical ethics.
He, along with Dr. Abdul Sattar, Dr. Naheem Ullah, Dr. Ihsan Khan, and Dr. Laeq, engaged students in an open discussion on study strategies, PMDC examination preparation, and career development.
The Pakistani students raised thoughtful questions regarding recognition of AMU degrees by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC). The delegation assured them that this matter would be addressed through joint coordination among AMU, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Islamabad, the Kazakhstan Alumni Forum Pakistan, PMDC, and HEC Pakistan.
The team also visited AMU’s advanced clinical skills laboratories, including BLS, ACLS, and PALS simulation units, and praised the university’s training standards. The visit concluded with cordial refreshments and mutual affirmation of strengthening academic ties between AMU and Pakistani medical institutions.
Following the successful opening event in Astana, the delegation traveled to Karaganda, where they participated in the International Orthopedic & Traumatology Conference organized by KATO – the Kazakhstan Association of Traumatology and Orthopedics.
