SUKKUR, Jan 01 (APP): Vice Chancellor (VC), Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur, Dr Yusuf Khushk on Thursday has said a major project is being launched to develop the university’s Long Faqir land into a vibrant academic hub.
He was addressing in an event, cultural performances, and an award ceremony for active journalists of Khairpur.
Host and renowned writer Qurban Mangi said Sindh Children’s Academy and Poptat Publishing House have been organizing literary and academic events for decades. Guest speaker Saeed Mangi, Director of the Institute of Art and Design, Sindh University, highlighted the role of cultural events in enriching life. Musrat Ali Mangi, Station Director, Radio Pakistan Khairpur, noted Khairpur’s legacy as a center of knowledge and literature.
Sahib Khan Bhand, Deputy Director, Information Department Sindh, praised Poptat and Sindh Children’s Academy for fostering intellectual growth. Poets hoped the New Year would bring new opportunities for literature and books.
The mushaira session was presided over by Fateh Mirani, with Hajra Naz Malik, Ibrahim Kokhar, and Taj Sarohi as guests.
Poets including Hubdar Jagirani, Zamir Lashari, Manzoor Khamosh and others recited their work. The event was conducted by Roshan Sheikh and Sharif Abbasi presented a poem by Shah Abdul Latif.
